Not sure about the tape, that winding tape just looks like yellow packing tape “packing tape is brown” I think it is teflon so normal packing tape might do if it’s the same material. Won’t look pretty though. I don’t think it needs to be yellow, I won’t be losing mine. This is the one I was talking about.

I will try to build this one tonight, I have the required componants I think. I will make a CMOS pulse generator to try it with. I think it is a D Class Amplifier, but it looks too simple. I hope, I’ve got logic datwsheet fets. I’ll try it with first. Actually it might be better for a normal fet to change the 5. Ensuring the 10 volts for full gate charge.

I hate this because of the added overhead. It will, however, reduce the balancing I’m doing right now between the offset and pulse width pots Datashet I just need to go with the standard power mosfet and drive the gate to the datashert rails, but Adtasheet know they are ringing from the charging pulse so maybe that’s bad and the 5VDC regulator is good.
I’m placing an order for some of this stuff soon and these new parts will be part of that order so if any can suggest something soon, I’m open, and NO expert at Mosfets I Don’t want to do anything wrong on my toroid.

Cheers The longitudinal windings is optional, I think Bob is just doing some Tesla theory experimenting with that. Good idea not sure how it would work though. He most likely has lots of toroids so did the longitudinal windings when he wound a new one for the winding tutorial.
He probably figured he would show the pics since he did the windings. I am not going to do that. If I get really good results from my first one I will likely buy another to try Bobs longitudinal windings.
I went to Hydrogen Garage and downloaded an updated. Aha it just dawned on me that a ferrite choke won’t work.
It seems to reflect the spike and not allow it to the battery. I think from memory somewhere back in this thread someone mentioned that a specific choke was required must be iron powder for high frequency but I can’t find the reference to it yet. Oh and the change I made to the choke drawing a few posts back was crazy “no good”, in the video I tried it the original way, but the small toroid choke was ferrite.
I just thought of a couple more things to try with the choke. I noticed when I had the small winding connected to the diode recovery and the other end open, that when i touched the two ends of the other longer winding they sparked.

So maybe I will try using the longer winding as a transformer isolator with a bridge or just one end or short it and use normally. Just to get a better idea of how this is going to work. I’ll have to buy a small iron datashet toroid core for the choke to get any conclusive enlightenment though I think.
I like trial and error because you just never know what might happen. I have attached a drawing for the electrolisis setup below, I think looking at that drawing we may need two chokes, one on the positive lead to the circuit, a “RF filter” and one on the recovery after the diode with the right number of wraps to 2n90 the phase of the spike to in between the “draw periods” so the spikes can hit the battery in “Dead time”.
Preferably as close to the preceeding draw period as possible to allow some absorbtion time before the next draw period. It is now painfully obvious I definately need my new Nano scope, hopefully today.

I have started on my ghetto toroid, which, if not exactly what is needed for this replication, will at least be fun to play with until I get a real toroid. I’ll post pictures later.

About choke, anyone use it between battery to circuit or between diode output to charged battery? I consider choke like a datahseet, need to be at the right size.
