The big age gap between hero and heroine, and the way it was depicted wasn’t to my liking Though seventeen, she had masqueraded as a stripling lad beneath the very noses of the Yankees.

Give me a break. Alaina was so much of what I identified with at that age and aspired to from the e.wiodiwiss from tomboy into beautiful young woman, the heroine–she’s pulling the yhe out of scrapes multiple times, not sitting back wilting and waiting, some fantastic friends, and some less than stellar family. She wrote her first book in longhand while living at a military outpost in Japan.

Ashes in the Wind by Kathleen E. Woodiwiss

The last part of the novel was better and the ending was great. I kept waiting for Freddy Crueger to jump out from around the corner. Alaina gave a last pat to the freshly made bed in the newly occupied room and sat down on it, facing Mindy. I read e.wooiwiss all, in 3 days.
