It completely baffles me how Kluver can manage to create compelling and heroic male characters, and yet make her own main character so insipid and immature. When the palace guard captures and intruder—a boy her age with steel-blue eyes, The cover is gorgeous and the story was most interesting.

Unfortunately, no suitor matches her father’s strict qualifications aside from Lord Steldor, the egotistical son of the Captain of the Guard whose very breathing manages to annoy Alera.

Did the writing improve? All of this seemed to fly out the window and with it, all sense of continuity by the time I reached the third chapter.

Personally, I dislike the dedication Alera and the author seem to have for Narian. Cayla Kluver’s writing is beautiful. The second book Allegiance is set to be released at the end of February Of course, this is not necessarily a failure unique to rookies.

Legacy : Cayla Kluver :

Princess Alera of Hytanica and her younger sister, Miranna, had a rather peaceful and easy life. He’s arrogant and I although can’t like him, he’s again perfectly portrayed and described. She is incapable of kluvef a stiff upper lip in public situations, and she goes about kluveg upon rash plans. Dec 07, Dark Faerie Tales rated it it was amazing Shelves: No sooner was the Cokyrian captured, however, did the enemy manage to escape!

I fear my review is going to be full of contradictions for I liked and disliked the book equally. Yet at the same time he does try to be good to Alera and win kluvdr over.

His “face time” in the book was so limited for me. And as heartless as this sounds, when faced with giving up your parents or giving up your entire kingdom, it’s obvious which is the right decision to take.

Yet I am still waiting for her to catch up to my expectations. Honestly I can not finish this book. This is the line at which I really just about lost it. I loved Alera, she was the perfect 17 year old, she caula strong, witty, knew what she wanted but wasn’t sure how to get it.

Next year, at her legafy, she has to marry the man who will be the next king, by her father’s order.

Still, the war and aftermath scenes are powerful enough that a complex villain is quite unnecessary and I’m curious to find out where this series goes next. Who saves Miranna from her abduction?

There is not one part of this book that felt like that. Yes, I’m going to. That she makes mistakes, but she learns kluvef them. Jun 09, Danny rated it it was amazing Shelves: He seems mature for his age.

Legacy (Legacy, #1) by Cayla Kluver

We learn more about his upbringing and who and what he is ldgacy. He has an amazing story, and I loved learning more about him and his role. They were too much and took away soooo much from this beautiful story. They were blue, sharp and intense.

I couldn’t finish it. On a more technical note, I used to be a slavish lover of eastern european history specifically in the late medieval through renaissance eras.

The premise of this book is so awesome. She seemed for me perfectly real and a very honest character.

Her budding interest in the political affairs of klvuer kingdom come to head when another Cokyrian, a young man named Narian, is captured, and Alera finds herself probing him for information that she, as a woman, is not allowed to know. I just couldn’t get over the long winded descriptions.
