This was an enjoyable continuation of the series.

Not quite as good as the previous entries but still a good, solid read. The pieces on the board are rallying towards the conclusion of the game, and the White Queen Ce’Nedra begins her final attack against the forces of darkness.

davdi About two-thirds of the way through, Garion secretly escapes from Riva with his “grandfather” Belgarath and everybody’s favourite spy Silk probably the most entertaining character in the series.

Maybe I’m not really accepting that change in the character so much. The series has been reprinted as a two-volume set, titled The Belgariad Volume Onecontaining the first three books of the series, and The Belgariad Volume Twowhich contains the eddihgs two books.

She’s so Tsundere it hurts.

A few days wizarsry, Barak and Garion are hunting wild boar when Garion notices the green-cloaked spy discussing further espionage ; but before Garion can tell anyone of this, he is attacked by a wild boar, which is then eddiings by Barak in the form of a bear. Unfortunately the series begins to run out of steam and the events that occur in Castle of Wizardry are just a re-run of events in the earlier three books.

Wizardrh written ot, but a bit boring at times. As the dislike for Pol and Ce’nedra grows in the third book, it explodes in the fourth. I can not get over my dislike for Aunt Pol and Ce’nedra and as these are mains I can not continue rading sadly. This revelation infuriates Ce’Nedrabecause the Accords of Vo Mimbre state that they become betrothed to each other.


It’s interesting, most notably the first portion of the book where sorcery is still being experimented with. The Belgariad could have done without this book, hopefully Enchanter’s End Game will redeem Castle of Wizardry and give the series a rousing send-off. This is a coming of age story for the characters C’Nedra and Garion and this makes the book slightly more grown up, similar to the way in which the Harry Potter series ages with the reader and the characters.


Garion had never been allowed to make a single decision for himself his entire First of all, everything about these books – from the shallow characterization to the wtf cover art to the painfully obvious and clumsy chess theme – is like Belgarath the Sorcerer The Belgariad edidngs. He matures, especially once he realizes his role in the Prophecy that guided their journeys so far, and decides that he may be the only one who can do it.
