This I read this book as part of a three book bundle after I read Vietuoso Heir and The Soldier, and I liked this book the best out of the 3. Good God, she was lovely. This is a good thing, as the first three books in the Windham series are basically the same plot, with different people and settings. Burrowes brings these two souls together, we are treated to a love story that is so fragile and tender, it will have you aching for them. It is in this book that he finally finds out why. It was refreshing to read a story in which the love was strong throughout and the tension was because of the circumstances they lived with, not tension virtuoao the characters themselves.
It’s amazing how often these aristocrats take the law into their own hands, and I just hope it’s burrowwes true in real life.
